About Us
“Independent Living. I already live independently. Why do I need Traditions?” You may be asking that question. I’ve had people ask me the same thing. My answer is that you may not NEED Traditions, but there are many reasons you should consider it.
For many seniors, the responsibility of maintaining their home becomes burdensome and the daily chores of everyday life like cooking and cleaning, become all-encompassing. At Traditions, both a noon and evening meal are served in our dining room daily. Residents may choose to take advantage of that meal or may choose to cook for themselves in their apartments – but a healthy, nutritious meal that can be enjoyed with neighbors and friends is always an option. Amenities such as weekly housekeeping and a flat linen service are included in the monthly rent. Traditions offers a maintenance free environment, which allows seniors the opportunity to do more of the things they like to do, rather than the things they HAVE to do. Residents leave their shovels, rakes and vacuum cleaners behind!
With a full-time Director of Resident Life, the community offers opportunities for people to learn new things, meet new people and continue to grow. Living with others your own age, socializing at meals and community events, and taking advantage of the many common areas at Traditions (including a library, fitness center and theater) make it easy to live life to its fullest.
The peace of mind for friends and family, knowing that their loved one is someplace safe and that help (if needed) is always available, is also reassuring.
After sharing all this information, I asked the gentleman if he saw the value of what Traditions offered. It was his turn to smile at me, and admitted that he could. He’s coming for a tour next week. I hope you’ll take the time to read more about Traditions and come see for yourself what Independent Living could mean for you.

When my mom was in search of an Independent Community in the Lehigh Valley, we visited Traditions of Hanover, among other places. What set ToH aside from the others was the warm and oh-so-welcoming feeling we both had, right from the start. We were made to feel right at home – not just by the staff, but by the residents. Jennifer (the staff member that that met with us) barely had to say a word… the residents themselves kept coming up to us telling us about their experiences since moving to ToH. Now… over 3 years later… my mom still says that moving here was the best decision she's ever made. She is never bored, never lonely, never hungry (the food is AMAZING!), and never feels even for a second upset about living here. The staff is incredible (from the young gals who help out at meal time and cleaning to the top management) – they all truly care about the residents. I’ve not met a single staffer that thinks of their duties there as a “job”. She loves living there, but from my perspective, I’m so very grateful for Traditions of Hanover and the positive experience they’ve provided for my mom after having to leave her home of over 50 years.
